Inside the atelier
Two benches, four hands, one rule: nothing leaves until it moves well. A visit to the workshop behind the maison.
The atelier is smaller than people expect. Two benches by a north window, because north light does not lie. A drawer of files worn to the shape of particular thumbs. Most days the loudest sound is the wheel. Each ORVELLE piece passes through four hands — the drawer, the setter, the polisher, and the one we call the mover, whose only job is to wear the piece for an hour and report how it behaves. Nothing leaves until it moves well. Jewellery is not sculpture; it lives on a body in motion, and it must love that motion.
